She and her sister Connie Alward, plus their friends Alena Menefee and Amy Rose, compose Aspire!, a subset of the Grand Olympics Chorus, and they're preparing to bring singing Valentines to people in Sequim and Port Angeles.
The foursome is taking reservations now for deliveries on Friday, Feb. 14. The $40 fee includes a song sung a cappella, a flower and a personalized card; for long-distance phone Valentines, the cost is $20.
Muldowney added that Aspire! offers a couple of choices depending on preference.
“The main one we'll sing is 'Love Will Keep Us Together,' the '70s Captain and Tennille hit. Another one we can do is 'Just in Time,' a great tune from the swing era,” she said.
“The recipients of our singing Valentines won't get a simple tune of 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart,' but rather, a well-rehearsed, tight-harmony selection from our repertoire.”
Reservations may be made by phoning 360-683-3624.
Aspire!, along with the Grand Olympics Chorus, is part of the Sweet Adelines International organization of women's barbershop-style singing, and has a Facebook page with information.
Proceeds from these performances will help the quartet purchase sheet music and travel to competitions such as the Sweet Adelines regionals in Spokane this April.
