GIRLS BASKETBALL: Neah Bay routs Mary M. Knight

NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay girls basketball team beat Mary M. Knight for the second time in less than two weeks by a score of 65-39.

Faye Chartraw led the Red Devils with 25 points and 15 rebounds, 10 of those coming off the offensive glass.

Chartraw shot 10 of 17 from the field.

Cierra Moss added 22 points, and equaled Chartraw’s rebound total with 15, including nine offensive boards.

Starlena Halttunen contributed six points to the victory, while Haily Greene added five, Blaire Hill had four and Holly Greene finished with three.

Neah Bay (4-1) built up a solid 28-17 halftime lead in Friday’s game, but pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring the Owls 23-10 to take a 51-27 lead into the final quarter.

The Red Devils outscored Mary M. Knight in each of the four quarters and scored in double figures in every quarter.

Miranda Sowie led the Owls with 16 points.

Neah Bay hosts Lummi on Saturday afternoon.
