Amy Sousa, Key City’s education director, and guest artist Duncan Frost will lead the session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Key City Playhouse, 419 Washington St.
There’s no charge for the workshop, which will cover audition preparedness, staging and acting a monologue, how to approach cold readings and how to read well with a partner.
Performers planning to attend Key City Public Theatre auditions, people who are new to town or who just want to brush up on their auditioning skills are welcome.
To reserve a space, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 360-379-0195.
“This workshop will provide techniques that you can use in your rehearsal process as well as the audition room,” according to Key City’s invitation.
“The activities taught in this workshop will help you to give your best audition ever.”
Each participant should bring a two-minute monologue to use in the workshop.
If performers are interested in Key City’s 2014 season plays, they’re encouraged to visit the theater company’s offices, open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at 1128 Lawrence St. uptown.
After Saturday’s session, actors and actresses may elect to sign up for additional fee-based monologue coaching.
