Rehearsals will start next Sunday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1335 Blaine St., with registration at 6:30 p.m. and singing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Practices will continue every Sunday evening, and all singers age 16 and older — especially men — are encouraged to join, said chorus spokeswoman Lynn Nowak.
The registration fee is $35.
Rebecca Rottsolk directs the chorus while Lisa Lanza serves as the accompanist.
New and returning singers are invited to get a head start on learning the music, added Pam Clise, chorus president.
“There are several ways to receive extra help with the music,” she said.
To those who want to sing with the ensemble but wonder whether they have enough experience, she added: “Come and give it a try.”
If they wish, inexperienced singers can choose to pair up with more experienced singers, Clise noted.
Internet resources such as cyberbass.com make available of the holiday concert music, which includes some Rutter carols along with Britten’s “Ceremony.”
Also for chorus members, Hazel Johnson will offer bonus rehearsals for honing notes and drilling tricky sections of the music.
The concerts will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at First Presbyterian Church in Port Townsend and 3 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Chimacum High School Auditorium.
To register early and find out more, visit PT
chorus.org or contact Clise at 360-385-1224 or email@example.com. Singers also may register at the first rehearsal Sept. 8.
