Free outdoor concert series kicks off in Sequim. (PA concert slated Wednesday. PT concerts begin in July)

SEQUIM — The Dukes of Dabob, a well-known local Dixieland jazz band, will perform at the outdoor James Center for the Performing Arts amphitheater at the Sequim Water Reuse Park, 563 N. Rhodefer Road just north of Carrie Blake Park, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

This free, family-friendly concert kicks off the city of Sequim's Music in the Park series at the James Center every Tuesday at 6 p.m. through Aug. 27.

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket (seating is not provided) to the grassy expanse in front of the amphitheater, pack up a picnic dinner — and don't forget your sunglasses if it's sunny or a wool coat if there's a cold breeze.

After this Tuesday's opener, the schedule of Music in the Park concerts includes a diverse mix of bands plus a karaoke contest in August.

The lineup (all concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.):

■ July 2 — Joy Mills Band (country)

■ July 9 — Locos Only (rock and blues).

■ July 16 — Young Fiddlers (fiddle music).

■ July 23 — Cascada (gypsy jazz).

■ July 30 — Soul Ducks (rockabilly and blues).

■ Aug. 6 — Twisted Roots (folk).

■ Aug. 13 — Stardust Big Band, big band swing.

■ Aug. 20 — Porto Alegre, Latin jazz.

Port Angeles concert Wednesday

Old Sidekicks (country, bluegrass) will perform on Port Angeles City Pier from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

This is part of the free Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce's all-ages Concert on the Pier summer series, which began last week.

Concerts are every Wednesday through Sept. 4 at City Pier.

City Pier is a no-smoking, no-skateboards, alcohol-free venue.

Some chairs are available for the disabled and early arrivals.

Port Townsend concerts in July

The free Port Townsend Concerts on the Dock music series begins Thursday, July 11, with The Better Half (R&B, soul and funk-rock) playing from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pope Marine Plaza in downtown Port Townsend.

Sponsored by Port Townsend Main Street, the concerts will continue every Thursday through Aug. 29.

The concerts are for all ages. A wine, beer and cider garden also will be available.
