Children can be registered at their neighborhood schools from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays now through Friday, June 28.
Registration will reopen Wednesday, Aug. 14, and continue through the opening of the 2013-2014 school year.
Early registration is encouraged to ensure the most efficient placement for students, district officials said.
Children must be 5 years old prior to Sept. 1 to enroll for the 2013-2014 school year, and parents or guardians must provide children’s birth certificates and immunization records during registration.
Kindergarten open houses are planned in May. The schedule, with addresses and phone numbers of the schools, are:
-- Hamilton Elementary, 1822 W. Seventh St. — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14; 360-452-6818.
-- Roosevelt Elementary, 106 Monroe Road —11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 17; 360-452-8973.
-- Franklin Elementary, 2505 S. Washington St. — 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 20; 360-457-1343.
-- Jefferson Elementary, 218 E. 12th St. — 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 21; 360-457-4231.
-- Dry Creek Elementary, 25 Rife Road — 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 29; 360-457-5050.
