Port Townsend music series to kick off Thursday
Vibraphonist Susan Pascal is the first guest artist in the new "Barney McClure Presents" series to begin at The Upstage in Port Townsend this Thursday night.

His inaugural guest performer for “Barney McClure Presents” is vibraphonist Susan Pascal, a Seattle artist who tours internationally.
Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show, the first in a series to include about a half-dozen Upstate concerts per year, are $12 in advance or $15 at the door of The Upstage at 923 Washington St.
Both McClure and Pascal are well-known across the Northwest.
McClure has contributed music to movies such as “Mr. Holland's Opus” and “An Officer and a Gentleman,” and performed with Ernestine Anderson, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Big Joe Turner and Joe Pass among other blues and jazz artists.
Pascal has played the Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle and in Centrum's Jazz Port Townsend.
She's collaborated with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra and Seattle Baroque Orchestra as well as the Gypsy jazz group Pearl Django.
