Both groups meet in the small conference room of the third floor of the Jefferson Healthcare Home Health and Hospice, 2500 W. Sims Way, which is at Sims Way and Howard Street in Port Townsend.
The groups are offered to the community free of charge, with support from the Hospice Foundation for Jefferson Healthcare.
“Facing Loss: A Six-Week Grief Support Group,” begins on Monday, April 8 and runs for six consecutive Mondays through May 13.
The facilitated group will meet for two hours each session, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m
Pre-registration is required. The registration deadline is April 2. Participation is limited to six, and participants are asked to commit to attend all six sessions.
Each session of the workshop-type program builds on the one before, with a focus on grief education, coping skills, journaling, and group sharing.
Together, participants consider ways of providing self-care, adjusting to life without the person who died, and deepening bonds of trust.

A summer group will be offered starting in late July.
A facilitated drop-in bereavement group meets the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The next session will be March 20, followed by April 3, April 17, May 1 and May 15.
Participants receive support and will be able to share feelings and experiences.
Each session also includes grief education focused on a theme, such as common grief reactions, coping with stress, or grief within families.
