The Chamber Orchestra outscored the second-place orchestra from Klamath Union High School of Klamath Falls, Ore., at the 40th annual Northwest Orchestra Festival at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore.
With Saturday’s win, it becomes the first PAHS orchestra to win three consecutive years at the regional festival and competition, said Ron Jones, director of Port Angeles High School orchestras.
“Please congratulate chamber members Erin Hennessey, Sam Langley, Carly La, Jay Liang, Selbey Jelle, Leah Marsh, Bethany Johnson, Marc Henry, Elizabeth Helwick, Josh Basden, Roisin Cowan-Kuist, Connor Leslie, Jeremy Choe, Kyle Bozich, Trey Hoover, Kate Haworth and Michael Helwick,” Jones said.
The concert orchestra earned a second place trophy, just behind Newport High School of Bellevue, he said.
Past concert orchestras have placed first or second every year they have participated in this division.
