Doors at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., will open at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and include dinner and wine. Both live and silent auctions are planned.
Team Port Townsend has set a $60,000 goal to fund Blue Heron Middle School sports for the 2013-2014 school year.
If the amount raised exceeds the amount needed, the remainder will go toward other co-curricular activities within the Port Townsend School District.
Cuts prompted group creation
Team PT, an arm of the Booster Club, was organized last year when school district budget decisions cut funding for seventh- and eighth-grade athletics.
The eight-seat table that raises the most money through auction items and/or donations will be invited to next year’s celebrity VIP luncheon.
Ruel has more than 35 years of coaching experience at the pro and college level.
He followed Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll to Seattle in 2010.
