Retired investment banker Edward “Ted” Young will present “Financial Reform at the Crossroads” at the luncheon at SunLand Golf & Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive.
Tickets are $25 and are available through PayPal at www.lwvcla.org or in person at Pacific Mist Books in Sequim or Port Book and News in Port Angeles.
Young is a retired executive from Chase Manhattan and Moody’s Investor Service who held a number of international positions, with assignments ranging from Hong Kong to India to Pakistan to Japan.
His comments will tackle issues from the controversial 2010 reforms of the Dodd-Frank Act to the continuing debate over the role of government in regulating the financial system.
A Harvard graduate, Young holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Washington.
Since his retirement in 2004, Young has devoted his time to writing on aviation history and also serves on the board of New Beginnings, a Seattle organization devoted to services for survivors of domestic violence.
Young, who made a similar presentation at the Seattle League of Women Voters, has a history of support for the league.
“We are thrilled that Ted has agreed to come to Sequim,” said Nancy Esteb, president of the Clallam chapter.
“His topic and his skill as a speaker will make this event of special interest to the broader community.”
