The grant is designed to increase Centrum’s marketing reach in King and Pierce counties in 2013 and 2014 — specifically for music festivals Jazz Port Townsend and the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival.
“This grant build’s Centrum’s capacity to study our audience more deeply and attract new audience members to the Olympic Peninsula,” said Centrum marketing director Jordan Hartt.
“It gives us the opportunity to share jazz, the acoustic blues and the richness of Port Townsend and Fort Worden with a wider audience.”
Centrum has engaged Seattle-based marketing firm Golden Lasso for data research, focus groups and the identification of opportunities and travel challenges.
“Once people come out here for the first time and experience the McCurdy Pavilion festival scene in this place of unparalleled beauty, the artistic life becomes a lifelong habit,” Hartt said.
Jazz Port Townsend, curated by Artistic Director John Clayton, is set for July 25-27, with mainstage shows at McCurdy Pavilion and club performances in downtown and uptown Port Townsend.
The Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival, curated by Artistic Director Daryl Davis, takes place Aug. 2-3, with mainstage shows at McCurdy Pavilion and club performances in downtown and uptown Port Townsend.
