Anthony James Wright was driving his 1998 white Ford Mustang east on state Highway 112 about 4 miles west of Joyce at about 11 a.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a right turn, left the asphalt and struck a bush on the side of the road, according to the State Patrol.
Drugs or alcohol was suspected as a factor in the single-car wreck, and a State Patrol trooper took a blood sample from Wright before he was taken to the hospital, said Trooper Russ Winger, State Patrol spokesman.
No results had been received as of Saturday afternoon, Winger said.
