Betty Marie Braghetta

Port Angeles resident Betty Marie Braghetta died of a heart-related illness. She was 24.

She was born in Yakima to Vern and Becky (Beckstead) Braghetta.

Ms. Braghetta earned a general educational development, or GED, degree and became a nursing assistant.

Survivors include sons Nickolas K. Beckstead Braghetta, Kolby D. Demello and Dominic A. Beckstead Braghetta; her parents of Quilcene; and sister Rachel L. Braghetta of Quilcene.

Services: Friday, Dec. 7, 3 p.m. memorial at the Pope Marine Building, 100 Madison St., Port Townsend. Chaplain Walter Brown will officiate.

Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.

Wilbur E. Christensen
Aug. 9, 1913 - Nov. 27, 2007

Former Sequim resident Wilbur E. Christensen died in Coupeville of a heart attack. He was 94.

He was born to Leroy and Lourena Susan Christensen in Detroit, where he graduated from Cooley High School.

He married Eunice Mae Holloway in Detroit on May 8, 1937.

Mr. Christensen was a self-taught tool and die maker, apprenticing at Ex-Cell-O Corp. in Detroit.

During World War II, he worked a 12-hour day at his regular job and a weekend job at a defense plant to contribute to the war effort.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1946, he worked in aerospace and manufacturing industries until his retirement, when he and his wife moved to Frazier Park, Calif., where they operated a family grocery and dry goods store for four years.

In 1982, the Christensens moved to Sequim. As her health failed, he became her primary care giver.

They moved to Oak Harbor in 2001 and made their home at a retirement center.

Mrs. Christensen died in 2002.

Mr. Christensen enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing and water skiing.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David and Igene Christensen of Coupeville; daughter-in-law Syd Christensen of San Marcos, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His son, Dennis, died in 2007. Brother Raymond and sister Dorothy also preceded him in death.

Services: Graveside in Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, on Dec. 1 was officiated by the Rev. Fred Renfroe. Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor, was in charge of arrangements.
