Jack Fields

July 31, 1925 -- Nov. 29, 2006

Jack Fields of Port Hadlock died of age-related causes in Port Townsend. He was 81.

He was born to Master Sgt. Troy and Grace (Doughty) Fields on the island of Corregidor in the Philippines.

Mr. Fields graduated from Port Townsend High School. He spent eight years on active duty in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Returning to Port Townsend in 1951, he worked at Fort Worden until the Army base closed in 1953. He then worked for the city of Port Townsend, retiring in 1980.

He retired from the Naval Reserve at age 60.

He married Marian E. Both on April 29, 1952.

He was a Little League football coach for six years, a volunteer with the Boy Scouts Troop 479, a Port Townsend volunteer firefighter for 15 years, and past exalted ruler and lifetime member of BPO Elks No. 317.

Survivors include his wife of Port Hadlock; sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Lorie Fields and Joe and Heidi Fields, all of Port Townsend; daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Jim Wadkins of Port Townsend; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred and Pete Fields and Clarence and Lucille Fields, all of Arizona; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Larry Grewell of Chimacum; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers Carl and Cliff Fields.

Services: Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1:30 p.m. rosary, 2 p.m. Memorial Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 1335 Blaine St., Port Townsend, with the Rev. John Topel presiding.

Graveside inurnment at 3 p.m. with military honors at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, following by an open house at the home of Kathleen and Jim Wadkins, 220 24th St., Port Townsend.

Memorials: Tall Elks, c/o Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend, WA 98368.

Denny Patrick LaVigne

Nov. 23, 1944 -- Nov. 29, 2006

Denny Patrick LaVigne died at his Port Townsend home. He was 62.

His obituary will be published later.

Services: Thursday, Dec. 7, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., celebration of life open house at the Port Townsend Golf Club, 1948 Blaine St., Port Townsend.

Jeannie Marie Lomker

May 20, 1930 -- Nov. 30, 2006

Jeannie Marie Lomker, 76, died in her Chimacum home.

Her obituary will be published later.

Dorothy Wilkes Plut

Sept. 25, 1909 -- Nov. 30, 2006

Dorothy Wilkes Plut, died at Victoria House, Port Townsend, at age 97.

Her obituary was published Friday on Page A12.

Services: Friday, Dec. 8, 6:30 p.m. Rosary at St. Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 1335 Blaine St., Port Townsend.

Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Dec. 9, 11 a.m., at St. Mary Star of the Sea. The Rev. John Topel will preside.

A reception in the church hall follows.

Interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9.
